Automation

Belcastro is one of Australia's most advanced and truely automated homes.

It was important for Doug and Jan to be able to enjoy their home well past their retirement, and to this end the entire property is completely integrated.

At the heart of the system is the advanced M1 automation panel by Ness. This panel is integrated with every facet of the house, from lighting (more on this below) through to access control.

Sadly, this major integration project has not been able to escape it's share of problems. Dynalite was selected as the lighting control platform for the property which has turned out to be somewhat of a disaster. After four years of trying to work with Dynalite to resolve the many issues with their system and having controllers and key components replaced countless times the family has decided that with Dynalite's inability to provide a robust and constantly working solution, the number of hardware failures experienced and their complete lack of ability to stand behind their product - Dynalite simply has no place in a modern automated home and is currently seeking an alternate supplier. Watch this space for news about the system chosen to replace Dynalite.

The property also boasts some of the most advanced security you will find in any modern home or office. With coded card access to doors, 24/7 monitoring and remotely archived security cameras the residents of Belcastro know that their safety and security is always assured.

When at home residents and guests at Belcastro can enjoy music all around the property thanks the the Nuvo Concerto audio distribution system. A great feature of this system is it's ability to integrate with the rest of the home automation. Automatically turning on, and selecting Doug and Jan's favorite music on their return each day the house is always ready to welcome.

When it's time to enjoy a spot of TV the distributed video system is fantastic, with all rooms in the house able to access not just free to air channels, but security cameras, foxtel and media centre PC's with a fantastic archive of great television and movies.
